About the event
This training is for folks interested in serving as FORBA trail leaders and crew supervisors. During this 2.5 hour training session we'll go over the fundementals of trail building and maintence as well as the logistics for how FORBA handles routine maintance, special projects and new trail builds. Drinks and snacks will be provided. Meet at the park shelter. Wear clothes you aren't afraid to get dirty. Trail Leader Duties
- Point of contact for a trail: Salem Lake, Hobby, Tangelwood or Horizons (looking for 2-3 people for each trail)
- Monitor trail conditions weekly
- Communicate trail status and needs at monthly community trail meeting or email
- Monitor Trailforks for issues and respond when resolved
- Coordinate with Crew Supervisors who leads work parties
Crew Supervisor Duties
- Complete required training on trail building/maintenance, sawyer certification, etc.
- Coordinate with Trail Leaders to understand work that needs to be done at the trail
- Sign up to oversee scheduled work parties, ensuring volunteers complete routine maintenance and approved special projects safely and correctly
- Respond to trail issues (trees down, etc.) in between scheduled work parties
- Looking for at least 5 Crew Supervisors, but want as many as we can get
